Poke Bowls are the national food of Mufasa. Us, Mustafians, we all know the popular saying “A poke bowl a day, keeps the doctor away.” In celebration of our national food, we visited 3 different Mustafian families, all living in a different part of the country. We asked them about their own unique way of making poké bowls. The special thing about poke bowls is that everyone makes them differently. The base of a poké bowl is rice, the rest is up to you.
Family Masala
On the west side of the country we met up with the “Masalas”. A young, happy family with 3 children. Their poké bowls contain lots of vegetables. They have their own garden, so all the veggies and herbs are self-grown. In this beautiful garden there’s also a coconut-tree, so they eat their poké bowls out of a coconut shell. They are strongly against the animal killing in the country and therefor don’t eat any meat.

Family Simbastian
Nearby the beautiful coast of Mufasa we find an older couple with 5 children, 3 of them live by themselves. This family makes poké bowls based on an old family recipe. Besides chicken, peppers and seaweed this bowl contains, there’s also a secret sauce added on top.

Family Bizous
This funky family lives in the city, nearby the capital of Mufasa. They wanted to try something different than the traditional poké bowls. A sweet variant with sugared rice with all kinds of fruit and nuts was the marvellous result. A must-try!
